TRUTAC ANSWERS CONCERNS OVER WORKING TIME DIRECTIVE

TruTac Launches TruControl Version 3.5 at the CV Show Visit TruTac Ltd at stand 19-019

Commercial Vehicle Show, Birmingham, UK, March 23rd 2004 - TruTac, the market leader of comprehensive driver and vehicle conformance management solutions for mixed fleet operators, today launches version 3.5 of TruControl for effective real-time management of driver data drawn from the tachograph.

The implementation of the Working Time Directive in Spring 2005 requires operators to have undertaken a thorough review of current working practices. TruControl provides the necessary improvements in driver, vehicle and route analysis providing the foundation to demonstrate conformity and improved performance in advance of these changes.

TruControl’s unique scanning technology enables a daily analysis of tachograph charts dramatically reducing time to debrief from 27 days to less than 24 hours with the associated increase in efficient conformance management. Tachograph charts are quickly and accurately analysed, with double entry verification, data validation and assessment, providing advanced reporting of Hours Law and Working Time Directive, avoiding major offences and reducing the risk of Ministry penalties. This comprehensive reporting ensures effective real-time performance management, cutting legal exposure, highlighting training needs and rewarding good performance leading to improved morale and confidence.

Martin Taylor-Smith
, CEO TruTac Ltd; “This is a nervous time for many in the commercial vehicle sector with the approach of new health and safety legislation, Working Time Directive obligations and the arrival of digital tachograph technology in the near future. We understand that this industry operates on very low margins and constantly seeks new ways to improve business efficiencies and reductions in overheads. TruControl embraces these developments and gives hauliers and fleet operators the tools to control agencies and better manage their drivers. “

“Critically for the bottom line, TruControl’s increased efficiency not only reduces core and agency labour costs by a tenth, it also reduces the risk of driver infringements by a third, bringing about a return on investment in less than three months.” Concludes Taylor-Smith.
